Geothermal Boogieland

You have to got to see this place to believe it. It is an active geothermal preserve called Wai-O -Tapu just outside Rotorua on the North Island's Taupo volcanic zone.

There is a geyser of sorts named Lady Evelyn at Wai-O-Tapu. The geyser is named after the Lady Evelyn Knox, the daughter of the 15th Governor of New Zealand (sort of like Canada's Governor General, I believe.)

Tourists are flocking around the whole area, but it is really a cool place to see. Worth the cost and crowds, I'd say.
